Archcare, the Healthcare Ministry of the Archdiocese of New York, hosted its Sixth Annual Black Tie Gala Benefit honoring Atlantic Dialysis Management Services Co-Principal Dr. J. Ganesh Bhat on Thursday evening, October 30th at the Gotham Hall in New York City with His Eminence Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan acting as the Gala’s Honorary Chairperson and Edward Cardinal Egan in attendance.
Breaking records both in attendance and fundraising for evening over $1.1M, the event raised money to help New Yorkers in need. Dr. Bhat was awarded the Archcare Community Service Award for his consistent support of charitable organizations with a community development or education focus. Internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Nicole Henry performed magically while Scott Larue, President & CEO of Archare served as Master of Ceremonies.
The Gala gathered a vibrant group of New Yorkers with a variety of backgrounds, from business to religion to healthcare, who all share the common goal of helping their neighbors in need. In the introduction of Dr. Bhat to the attendees, Gala Co-Chair Edward Dowling stated “We are pleased to honor him and hold him up as an example for others.”
While thanking his parents for providing confidence and instilling compassion and generosity, Dr. Bhat also stated “I am humbled to be named the 2014 Community Service Honoree.”
